News in the making
April 6, 2013: Well 777's are always lucky and it proved true tonight! Kathy and Issy are the official 2013 Tim Corfield Memorial Slot Race Champions with a smoking 16.777!
November 26: As reported in the 2013 Barrel Horse News Stallion Register our futurity mare from this past year - KG Justiceweexpected aka "Issy" now stands as Judge Cash's #1 Futurity horse in the past five years and is in the Top Ten earners of his barrel racing progeny! Her earnings neared the $20k mark in 2012. We couldn't be happier with Issys performances and we are looking forward to her future!
For 2013 Nine-Oh Barrel Horses will be represented in the futurity world with KG Jet O A GoGo aka "Lucy" - a 2008 filly out of our mare Do It For Beau by Blazin Jetolena who is owned by Kayla Tisdall of Fort Collins, CO. We also have a 2010 filly of this same cross in training and cant wait to see what Nine-Oh horses will win this upcoming year!!
October 7: KG Justiceweexpected was on her "A" game at the Walla Walla Autumn Daze! On Saturday, she won Race 1 by two tenths with a 13.894, and barely caught the first barrel with a slip to be a 13.83 in Race 2. (would've won that too!). Sunday "Issy" ran a 14.05 to win the race by two tenths as well! Her weekend earnings were a little over $1,000! Way to go Issy and Kathy!
September 21: The Roper Rally went very well! Issy placed 6th in the first go, 4th in the second go and 5th in the average! Our Judge Cash daughter out of "Moonie" will be headed back to WA after this and continue prepping for the rest of the fall futurities, including the WPRA Finals!!
September 8: Congratulations to Cortney Cain on her purchase of Azure Turnin Three ("Q"). Cortney and Q make a great pair. No doubt we'll be seeing them at the pay window in the future!!
KG Justiceweexpected has done extremely well in the spring futurities. She placed in both goes and the average at the Sand Cup, April 6-8 taking home $1886. At the Valley Girls Barrel Daze, April 13-15, she was 3rd in the 1st go, 5th in the average, and 3rd in the Open 1D Saturday. Combined with the Stallion Incentive she earned $7287 for the weekend.
Congratulations to Leslie Schuer and Viki Friedrich on their recent purchases. KG Cashin In On Beau sold to Leslie Schur, DVM of Las Vegas. We also sold KG A Scoop Of Fame to Viki Friedrich in Salkum, Washington.
Kathy was able to get Amy (Dale) Coelho's great NFR mare Quick Judge (Skid) in foal via embryo transfer to Jeff and Amy's stallion Mini Flits Last Yank (full brother to Flit To Kill). We also have a 2012 ET foal coming by Mini Flits Last Yank out of Do It For Beau.
Blurr The Cash (Sage) is in foal to Streaking Ta Fame for a 2012 baby. We are really excited about this cross.
Kathy and Winning Gold Chex (Josie) made their third consecutive appearance at the 2011 Columbia River Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals, November 11 and 12 in Redmond, Oregon. They placed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and the average with winnings of $1443 and moved from 9th position to sixth.
Nine-Oh mare Hey Chinook (Betty) has been on a run of late, placing or winning five of her last six reining events. We are excited to cross Betty with speed-bred stallions in the future. We believe that the reining/cow horse cross with speed gives a potential barrel horse the best chance at success in the arena. Kathy's great rodeo horse, Winning Gold Chex was sired by a reserve world champion senior reining horse, Extra Dry Chex, and out of Kathy's great speed mare, Jodalito Cielo.
Another Nine-Oh mare TS Missrarebullion (Blondie) has been in training with Ryan Lovendahl with hopes of making a run at the 2012 futurities.
Congratulations to Kayla Tisdall on her purchase of KG Jet O A Go GO (Lucy). Kayla, a Colorado State University rodeo team member, reports that Lucy is the smartest horse she has ever owned and is excited about getting her ready for her futurity year.
